Course Description
This course identifies the educational leadership needs of a church. An examination will be made of Bible study, discipleship, and mission education and action needs for adults, youth, children, and preschoolers in a church. Emerging twenty-first century educational and ministry needs will be examined.
Course Objectives
Student learning will be evaluated according to the following learning objectives through seminar discussions, papers, and the exams:
- Students will define and examine the biblical, theological, philosophical, historical, sociological, psychological, and curricular foundations of Christian education.
- Students will plan, design, organize, and assess an effective postmodern children's ministry for a church in the twenty-first century.
- Students will plan, design, organize, and assess an effective postmodern youth ministry for a church in the twenty-first century.
- Students will plan, design, organize, and assess an effective postmodern ministry to emerging, middle age, and senior adults for a church in the twenty-first century.
