Course Description

This course identifies the educational leadership needs of a church.  An examination will be made of Bible study, discipleship, and mission education and action needs for adults, youth, children, and preschoolers in a church.  Emerging twenty-first century educational and ministry needs will be examined.

 

Course Objectives

Student learning will be evaluated according to the following learning objectives through seminar discussions, papers, and the exams:

  1. Students will define and examine the biblical, theological, philosophical, historical, sociological, psychological, and curricular foundations of Christian education.
  2. Students will plan, design, organize, and assess an effective postmodern children's ministry for a church in the twenty-first century.
  3. Students will plan, design, organize, and assess an effective postmodern youth ministry for a church in the twenty-first century.
  4. Students will plan, design, organize, and assess an effective postmodern ministry to emerging, middle age, and senior adults for a church in the twenty-first century.
